I installed a Bosch DVR-440 Advantage line Digital Video Recorder at a customer’s factory. The customer had requested that he be able to log onto the DVR and view live streaming of the Cameras. This request is fairly simple you just need to set up port forwarding through the router, network the DVR then install the I Phone app etc. I set it up and ensured he could view the cameras, after this I was looking through the menu system on the DVR and noticed potential functionality that may benefit the customer.

I set up the DVR to send emails and performed successful email tests to my email account, after this I set up the cameras for motion detection with a function that allows an email to be sent when a camera detects motion. I then tested this functionality, to my surprise not only did I receive the email but also an attachment of the motion video clip. What a cool function!

I discussed my findings with the customer. I set up a time schedule that limits motion detection to specific times and intern the email being sent. The customer is extremely happy with his purchase which happens to be at the cheaper end of Bosch’s CCTV product range.
