When considering what kind of movement detectors to purchase for your alarm system, you need to keep an important reality in mind. This is - “An alarm system that false alarms causes reduced security."
Simply put, whether the alarm system is monitored by back to base monitoring, dials your mobile to report alarms, or is stand alone “just noisy," false alarms cause a sense of unreliability in the system, which could cause an individual's response to alarms to be less virulent.
An example of this would be - you have a stand alone system - “ no monitoring”. This system false alarms regularly. Your neighbours know your phone number, but ignore the alarm the day your house really gets burgled, because they ask themselves the question, "Are you being burgled? No, it’s just another false alarm!"
